Fortune magazine named NTT No. 4 on its Telecommunications 2004 Global Most Admired Companies list, based on a survey of telecommunications industry directors, executives and analysts who rated companies on nine criteria, including innovation, quality of products/services and long-term investment value. NTT also ranked in the top 20 worldwide in the 2004 Fortune Global 500, which lists corporations with the largest revenue from the past year.

NTT ranked No. 30 on the Forbes 2000: World's Leading Companies list, based on composite scores for sales, profits, assets and market value. NTT was also included in the top 20 of Forbes' list for companies with the highest sales.

NTT Communications scored an "excellent" in the category. The company also received four Telemark Gold Awards for exceptional levels of customer satisfaction in network reliability, secure data transfer and billing accuracy.
